CONSITUTION
BEGINNER BIKES RIDERS CLUB (BBRC)

I GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Beginner Bikes Riders Club hereafter known as BB Riders Club, or BBRC is headed up by the national and international president, Matthew Takens. All chapters, regional and local, as well as members-at-large will take direction from the president and will comply with the constitution of this organization. Any queries regarding information about the BB Riders Club, or the contents and execution of its constitution should be directed to the club's president at the following address: matthew@beginnerbikes.com or to the listed e-mail address of any of the club's regional directors.

2. Regional boundaries are specified as part of this constitution and can only be altered by a vote of the board members. Regional directors are appointed by the club's president. A local chapter can be formed by anyone who files a request with their regional director. If approved, the said applicant then becomes the first officer of this new local chapter and shall take direction from regional officers. The minimal requirements needed to form a local chapter are that there must be at least three members willing to join said chapter, including the first officer. The first officer must be at least 21 years of age, and agree to carry out the club's mission statement and enforcement of its constitution. Any information required about regions, local chapters and officers of the BBRC should be directed to the club's president. All regional directors and local first officers can appoint additional officers to assist with chapter responsibilities if the need arises.

3. All regional and local chapter officers must maintain current e-mail and home addresses as well as current phone number, and maintain communication regularly with the regional director of their respective region. Regional directors will maintain a line of communication with the club's president. Any officer not maintaining a line of communication on a reasonably regular basis can be replaced. Any member of the chapter may contact the regional director requesting consideration to fill a vacated first officer position.

4. The club patch of the BB Riders Club and the name Beginner Bikes Riders Club are the property and sole ownership of BeginnerBikes.com and as such, are not to be reproduced for personal use or sale without the written permission of the club president. All graphics related to the BBRC used on the Beginner Bikes web site can be used for regional and local web sites. Local chapter web sites must be approved by the regional director before it can be listed with BeginnersBikes.com.

5. While we do not restrict our members from maintaining ties with other clubs, no three-piece or rocker-patches shall be displayed along with the BBRC patch. No BBRC member shall display the words Motorcycle Club or the initials MC along with the BBRC patch. No member shall wear any 1% support patches or logos. Remember, the BBRC Club is a non territorial, neutral, family oriented international riders club and must maintain its neutrality by not showing preferential promotion of one club over another unless approved by the club's president.

II OFFICERS

1. The BB Riders Club at the national and international level will be controlled by the club president, Matthew Takens. The club president will appoint assisting officers as required to aid in the administrative operation of the club. The club president is responsible for overseeing all operation of the club. He will be responsible for maintaining the national/international web site. The club president will interact with all regional directors to ensure enforcement of the club's constitution is handled efficiently.

2. Regional Directors will be appointed by the club president. Once in office, a regional director can only be removed by a majority vote of the club's board of directors (see Board of Directors.) The regional directors are responsible for reporting to the club's president all pertinent information related to the operation of the club. The regional directors are also responsible for working with all local chapter first officers within their region to ensure proper enforcement of the club's constitution, and the smooth operation of the club. The regional directors are also responsible for coordinating rides and events within their regions, and following the activities of local chapter rides and events within their region. They are also to ensure that all local chapter first officers stay active and maintain current contact information. A regional director may appoint assisting officers as necessary to ensure smooth operation of their regions.

3. Local Chapter First Officers are appointed by the regional director of the region in which they are located after having applied to the regional director to start a chapter. Once in office, a first officer can only be removed by the regional director if he/she fails to maintain an active line of communication with regional officers, or due to an infraction against the club's constitution. A local first chapter officer can also be removed by a majority vote of the chapter members, provided such procedure is approved by the regional director or another regional officer. The local chapter first officer is responsible for maintaining current contact information on all members of his/her chapter. He/She is also responsible for maintaining an active line of communication with all members of his/her chapter, as well as the regional director. The first officer, with the regional director's approval, can appoint assisting officers as required to ensure smooth operation of the local chapter.

III GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

1. Membership in BB Riders Club is open to anyone with an interest in motorcycles regardless of race, creed, sex or the size and type of motorcycles you are riding. All members must be at least 16 years of age or older. Any applicant for membership below the age of 18 years old must present a notarized parental consent form. Members must be either a rider or passenger of a rider. Significant others who ride as passenger on their partner's motorcycle are eligible to join with the same member status as their partner/rider. Non-riders or future riders are allowed membership under special circumstances, to be determined by the local first officer and the regional director*. (*All members must purchase a BBRC patch for the price of $25. The proceeds of this sale will be used to support the operation of BeginnerBikes.com.)

2. Members will not be forced or badgered to attend meetings or to join in rides. However, a lack of communication and/or participation could result in discharge of membership at the discretion of the chapter's first officer with the approval of the regional director.

3. All members must maintain a current contact and information form with the local first officer. Members must show proof of valid motorcycle license or permit (not required of non-riding applicants). Members must also show proper state registration and proof of current insurance for their motorcycles. Members are also required to maintain state inspection requirements on their motorcycle.

4. Anyone may request membership in the BB Riders Club by contacting the local first officer or the regional director of the area in which they reside. Once all membership requirements are met, the member will be assigned to the local chapter nearest to their residence and will be contacted by the local first officer. If there is no local chapter, the member will be listed as a member-at-large (MAL) until such time that a local chapter can be formed.

5. The local chapter first officer can revoke membership of any member whose actions endanger the safety of other members at any time, or do not comply with the constitution of the BB Riders Club. The first officer may also request the regional director to assist in handling any problems within the local chapter, with the intent that a final decision be made that is acceptable with the local members of that chapter.

6. Members and first officers should work together to resolve any problems that exist within the local chapter. But, members also have the privilege of contacting the regional director to look into any problems within the local chapter if they feel the problem is not being properly addressed by their first officer.

7. Members can be registered with the regional director as a member-at-large (MAL). If there is no local chapter operating within their area, a MAL request may not be accepted if there is a local chapter operating within a reasonable distance from the member's residence.

2. The Board will meet on-line quarterly to discuss possible improvements for the club, and any problems that have arisen whether or not they have come to a successful resolution. Any member has the right to address the board; but where possible, the obvious chain of command should be utilized first. Any member is allowed to request an appeal of a decision made by any club officer or director.

3. A grievance or request for appeal must be presented to the board by either e-mail or letter form and any supporting statements and pertinent information should be included. All correspondence to the board of directors will be kept confidential, and will not be released to the public or the general membership.

4. All decisions made by the board will be made by a majority vote. Any board member can be replaced by a majority vote of all the board members.

c. Anyone not 100% confident of their or their motorcycle's ability to face the current riding environment should discuss this with the ride leader or any attending BBRC officer for the purpose of proper group positioning or even removal from the ride.

d. At no time should any rider be made to feel that they must ride above their ability nor should they push themselves to ride above their ability.

e. Provisions will be made for the capabilities of all riders within the group, even if it is necessary to split into more than one group.

f. It is the responsibility of every member and attending rider to ensure the riding environment is safe for themselves and the other riders. In doing so, we will strive to make every ride as safe as it could possibly be.
