Rider Review: 2000 Suzuki VS800 Intruder

This bike is fast. If you have this bike and are thinking of upgrading to an 1000cc bike for more speed think again. There are only about 5 or 6 stock bikes faster. The downside is the size of the bike. It's a little cramped. It's also a little buzzy at speeds over 65mph. The bike can do 90mph+, it just gives the impression it's working hard to do it.

As far as looks, this is a love or hate it look. It's a chopper style. I have the Teal color. I get lots of compliments on the bike because of the color. I have seen it in red and black and don't care for it.

Handling is about average. Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. There are lots of bumpy roads in NY. The bumps cause the bike to bounce a little bit. This would result in the rear breaks locking while airborne. I never lost control when it landed. But I could hear the rear end when it landed.

Would I recomend the bike? It depends on what you want. If you want an inexpensive rocket but don't want to bend over a gas tank then this is the bike for you. If you want a smooth ride and don't care how fast you take off, look elsewhere.
