Rider Review: 2000 Yamaha XT225

Submitted by: Jess

Great looking pair of bikes!I live in Australia and I am two months on my Learner's licence and own an Yamaha XT. I use it to commute to work during the week and take off-road on the weekends. I am totally obsessed about my bike and strongly recommend this bike to any learner wishing to purchase a reliable, practical dual purpose bike to gain experience on. Jess on her Yamaha XT225The XT's best features are that it is lightweight, which is handy for me because I am of a slight build and its very fuel efficient. The electric start is great because it means there is no panic and frantic jumping up and down in the traffic if you accidently stall it. Its also low in height so if you've got short legs the XT is probably the best little bike out there to start on. During the first week your friends on their CBR's, and so on, will probably laugh at you as they blast you off at the lights but guaranteed by the second week you wont be able to get them off it!
