One
of the workhorses of beginner bikes, Suzuki decided in 2003
to discontinue the GS500E. It is low, light, comfortable, handles
well, and has enough performance to ensure youll enjoy
it all the more as your riding time increases. On the market
since 1988, the GS500E has proven to be extremely reliable.
It looks swell too. Seat height: 31.1 inches.
Very
popular first bike - gets a B only because there are some
others that I believe make better first bikes. But this
is a good all around, reliable bike and many have successfully
started on this bike. Pity Suzuki quit importing it for
2003.
I rate
this one right alongside Kawasaki's 500 Ninja. Good alternative
to the sportbike thing too, especially when insurance premiums
are taken into account. Suzuki's 500 looks to be a well
rounded machine for the new or novice rider.
