This
is a powerful (Suzuki claims 80 horsepower), four-cylinder machine
that is simply too much motorcycle for most beginners. Like
Suzuki's SV650
and Kawasaki's ZR-7S, the Bandit offers remarkable performance
for the money, but it's best not to start out on one, as you
can get into trouble quickly. We mention it here because it
is frequently classified as a beginner bike. Seat height: 31.1
inches.
Inline-4
is more powerful and twitchy than recommended for first
bike. If you absolutely must have a 600cc inline-4, then
this would be one of the less terrible choices.
Like
the Nighthawk I have to assign a D rating for new riders
on the Bandit. While it handles and brakes better, the liquid
cooled motor is a bit more huper than Honda's air cooled
750 so all in all it drops right into the category of being
a great all around bike, but you need seasoned experience
before buying one.
Terrible
first choice for a beginner. Powerful inline 4. Even as
a naked bike, it is still a handful. Makes a good second
bike. I give it a D only because the supersports it is compared
against often make it look suitable.
