The
Bullet has been built in India since 1955. That is, the bike
doesn't just sport a retro look; it is a bike that hasn't
changed in 46 years. It was updated with electric starting in
2002, but lacks some other modern conveniences, which although
part of its charm, makes it hard to recommend to beginners.
Still, the Bullet's loping, easy-going performance is about
perfect for a beginning rider, and if you like to work on machinery
yourself and are drawn to the unique look, it could be for you.
Seat height: 30 inches.
Without
having ridden one I have to base my vote on what I've read.
Less-than-splendid brakes and high maintenance being the
front runners, unless you know your way around a toolbox
and engine I can't see giving it high marks for an entry
level rider. Still, they look like a lot of fun to ride.
Recommendations
made by Beginner Bikes Magazine, it's staff, team members
or riding club officers, are based on the skills of a novice
rider, of average stature and do not necessarily represent
the ideal for every rider. While Beginner Bikes encourages
safe, smart riding, we do not assume responsibility for
each individual. Please ride with care at your own risk.
