2003 Honda CB250 Nighthawk
Beginner Bikes
Thousands and thousands of motorcyclists have learned to ride on Honda CB250s. As user-friendly as Honda's 250 Rebel cruiser, the Nighthawk places the same bulletproof 234cc vertical-twin engine in a larger chassis that offers a more upright, "standard" seating position. The Nighthawk is surprisingly roomy, which helps especially when riding with a passenger. With its 4.3-gallon fuel tank and abstemious engine, the Nighthawk will take you and your passenger a long way indeed. Seat height: 29.3 inches.

You have to be in a certain niche to start off on the 250 Nighthawk. First off it's not a cruiser, and it's not a sport bike. If a standard is your desire, this is the bike for you. But you gotta be a taller rider, shorter riders will feel more at ease on the Nighthawk's sibling 250 Rebel. If you fill this niche, then I give it an A rating.

Excellent beginner standard. Lightweight, gentle on the power and relatively cozy for a tall rider. Lacking on the top end like the Rebel, but a great machine all around.
