One
of the easiest bikes to ride on the planet. With its low seat
height, smooth 234cc vertical-twin (i.e., the two cylinders
are upright and parallel to each other) engine and nimble handling,
the Rebel will provide even the most fearful rider with confidence.
It sips gasoline, getting around 60 miles per gallon, and the
build quality is typical Honda: this bike will withstand abuse
for years. Seat height: 26.6 inches.
This
is the penultimate Beginner Bike in my eyes, with a rich
production history to back it up. But if you're a taller
rider you might have to consider other options,Honda's sibling
250 Nighthawk (which shares the Rebel's motor) comes to
mind. Hands down an A rating, this seems to be the most
widely used machine for the MSF beginner safety classes
and for good reason.
