A
best-seller in Europe, the Pegaso 650 (the "i.e."
designates fuel injection, a new feature in 2001) is a workhorse:
you can tour on it, ride on twisty roads like a sportbike, explore
gravel and dirt roads, commute, you name it. The bike's 5.8
gallon gas tank means you won't have to stop very often for
refueling. The world's largest manufacturer of scooters, Aprilia
is emerging as a major player in motorcycles as well, with a
reputation for exceptional build quality, reliability and stylish
designs. The Pegaso proves the point. Seat height: 33 inches.
Basically
the outcome of the joint venture between BMW and Aprilia.
The Pegaso has a following overseas but lives in the shadow
of the F650. Ceased import last year and there aren't many
around. I give it a C as well for power, price and weight.
Another bike on the high end of the beginner range.
