New
in 2001, the Volusia (named for the Florida county which hosts
the annual Daytona bikefest) is a perfectly calibrated machine
for today's cruiser market--redolent of 1950s design, with the
wide fenders and chrome of the period, but with current technology
and reliability. It features the Intruder's shaft drive. A worthy
competitor to Yamaha's
V-Star Classic, and with an additional 150ccs.
Seat height: 27.6 inches.
Gosh
this was a tough one to rate. In the end I have to lump
it in with Kawi's Drifter though. A little lighter than
the Drifter (both in weight and price), Suzi's Volusia looks
to be an awesome mid sized bike but the weight is something
that may hinder a new rider. Still the Volusia makes a better
start than the big cruisers, I just hate to give such a
bike a C rating but in the eyes of a new rider I have to.
