Before
the release of the Volusia,
Suzuki's Marauder took pride of place in Suzuki's beginner-cruiser
category. Nevertheless, the Marauder remains the bike of choice
for many cruiser enthusiasts. It offers an attractive "hot-rod"
style at a budget price. Onlookers are drawn to the low, clean
lines of this bike, and will tell you so whenever you give them
a chance. Seat height: 27.6 inches.
The
Marauder's design suggests a more aggressive version of
its sibling Intruder. And for good reason, with the chain
final drive less power is robbed in transit to the rear
wheel, yet the Intruder is still quicker in the traps. Only
measured time that is, the Marauder comes in at almost 10mph
faster, so there's obviously some extra top end that the
Intruder is missing. The Marauder's style was ahead of its
time, before the "hot rod cruiser" rage there
was the Marauder. Before the VTX1800 there was the Marauder.
Before the Mean Streak there was the Marauder. Before the
Shadow Sabre there was the Marauder. Nay, the Marauder took
the drag styling to the cruiser market long before the new
generation power cruiser rage came back into play.
